As Australia's leading independent "pure-play" hematite iron ore producer, our client is leading the consolidation of the junior iron ore industry. The Company is generating strong cash flow and has a stable and experienced management team focused on delivering returns to shareholders.

Their mid-west operations are producing high quality lump and fine hematite ores at the rate of 3 million tonnes per annum. This is a modern efficient mining operation with a sustainable Life of Mine Plan that should see the mine continue to produce at this rate each year until 2013. This is an owner miner operation, presently moving between 1.0 and 1.2 million bcm a month.

On their behalf we are seeking suitable candidates for the position of Mining Manager. Reporting to the site General Manager, and deputising for him, you will presently be at the stage in your career where as an experienced Senior Mining Engineer you are ready to step up into this role permanently.

You will be responsible for the co-ordination and direction of the mining operation, and also for the activities of the rail and haulage contractor. It is expected that you will have good practical experience and strong ability to work well with and manage both technical and operational team members.

Applicants should have tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering and an Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency as a minimum. The fly in, fly out roster from Perth is 5/2; 4/3 with travel in company time.
