Our client is an Australian-based exploration and development company who have recently commenced gold and nickel production in the world-class Coolgardie-Kalgoorlie-Widgiemooltha region of Western Australia.

It has achieved an amalgamation of tenements through a wide sweep of the Coolgardie gold producing region and is well positioned to commence near-term mining of both nickel and gold. On their behalf we are currently searching for a suitable experienced and motivated senior mining engineer to fill this position.

Reporting to the Underground Mining Manager you will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, optimising and reporting on underground mining and related activities, monitoring underground personnel and controlling and directing mining contractors where appropriate.

You will also be involved with conceptual mining studies or feasibility studies, liaising with the Senior Production Geologists to ensure the effective and safe execution of production sampling programs, liaising with exploration staff to ensure the effective and safe execution of underground drilling programs as well as a range of project work.

You will also act as the Alternate/Deputy Underground Manager when required.

We require a mining engineer with significant underground experience; however some exposure to surface mining would be highly regarded.

An attractive salary package has been developed to attract the highest quality candidates. There is the opportunity to do an 8/6 fifo roster from Perth, or alternatively reside in the Kalgoorlie district.
