An opportunity currently exists for a Senior Mining Engineering professional to join the Technical Services team at our corporate office.


The Role
Reporting to the Group Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical mining engineering support and advisory services on a variety of projects including the Prominent Hill underground feasibility study, the Golden Grove open pit study and the Sepon mine expansion. Additionally, your role will also encompass the provision of mine design/planning and internal consulting to operations.


The Successful Applicant
You will posses at least ten years prior experience working in open pit or underground hard rock environments in a mine planning/mine design capacity. Your strong technical skills and your ability to work independently, apply initiatives and develop solutions to a wide range of mine design and planning challenges will ensure your success in this position. Experience working with software programs such as Vulcan, Mine2-4D and Whittle will make you a favourable candidate.


An attractive remuneration package including bonus incentive scheme and superannuation will be offered to the successful applicant.

Our client is an Australian-based exploration and development company who have recently commenced gold and nickel production in the world-class Coolgardie-Kalgoorlie-Widgiemooltha region of Western Australia.

It has achieved an amalgamation of tenements through a wide sweep of the Coolgardie gold producing region and is well positioned to commence near-term mining of both nickel and gold. On their behalf we are currently searching for a suitable experienced and motivated senior mining engineer to fill this position.

Reporting to the Underground Mining Manager you will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, optimising and reporting on underground mining and related activities, monitoring underground personnel and controlling and directing mining contractors where appropriate.

You will also be involved with conceptual mining studies or feasibility studies, liaising with the Senior Production Geologists to ensure the effective and safe execution of production sampling programs, liaising with exploration staff to ensure the effective and safe execution of underground drilling programs as well as a range of project work.

You will also act as the Alternate/Deputy Underground Manager when required.

We require a mining engineer with significant underground experience; however some exposure to surface mining would be highly regarded.

This is an opportunity to work within a small dynamic team environment and play an integral part in the continued success and growth of this progressive mining operation. We are multinational company in Coal Mining Industry intending to commence operation in the South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan. We are seeking dynamic and creative, professionals who have a successful track record in their fields to join and grow with our team.

I. Senior Mining Engineer (SME-01)

Key Accountabilities
1. Strong knowledge and has successfully experience in operation which includes; mines planning, project planning, scheduling and controlling of mining operation, contract mining, management of open cut mines in high rainfall areas.
2. Be able to construct geology models & pit designs.
3. Can communicate all significant issues relating, to operations, environmental management or safety.

Specific Requirements:
1. Min. S1 Mining Engineer from reputable University.
2. Min. 5 years experience as Mining Engineer in Coal Mining Company
3. Have good knowledge of software mining programs especially Minescape
4. Strong Leadership capability, initiative, planning & organizing skills, problem solving, time management, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and client focus and be result driven

II. Senior Geologist (SGe-01)

Key Accountabilities
1. Strong knowledge in principle of Geology
2. Be able to describe coal outcrops, coring and also geotechnical sampling procedure
3. Ability to design structure contour as normal
4. Able to do geology mapping.

Specific Requirements
1. Min. D3 Geology from reputable University
2. Having Experience min. 5 years at production geology work at similar position of producing coal mines in Coal Mining Company


III. Structural Draftman (StD-01)

Key Accountabilities
1. Strong knowledge in Operating Auto Cad 2007 (Available Using 3D)
2. Has good technical/engineering knowledge of code and standards in the structural area
3. Ability to use printer, plotter, digitizer

Specific Requirements
1. Min. STM/D3 from reputable University
2. Max. 30 years old.
3. Ability to use MS. Word and Excel.
4. Good command in English both oral and written

IV. Structural Engineer (StE-01)

Key Accountabilities
1. Strong knowledge in software SAP 2000 or STAAD 3.
2. Have experience for steel structure design.
3. Generation/Review/Approval design calculation material take off (MTO), Request for Quotation.

Specific Requirements
1. Min. S1 from Civil/ Steel Engineering.
2. Max. 30 years old.
3. Good command in English both oral and written
4. Ability to using Ms. Office, AutoCad, SAP 2000, STAAD III
5. Min. 5 years experiences in structural analysis and design in mining industry.
6. Willingness to live and work in remote area.

V. Safety & Environment Officer (SEO-01)

Key Accountabilities
1. Able to developing and implementing all necessary SE programs, coordinate implementation of facilities, environmental and safety.
2. Able to direct the Safety and Environment Policy for work safety in mining activities.
3. Able to identify and to prevent the work accident before happen it in every mining activities.

Specific Requirements
1. Min. D3 Safety & Environment or equivalent.
2. Min. 3 years experience in the same area.
3. Knowledge of K3 regulation and Environmental Management.

VI. Electrical Engineering (El-E 01)

Key Accountabilities
1. Understanding of electrical control systems and general electrical line of coal processing
2. Understand about HV & LV include control system
3. Understanding to read specifications and drawings

Specific Requirements
1. Min. S1 Electrical Engineering.
2. Min. 5 years experience in the same area.
3. Understand about MS Office & Auto cad.
4. Willing to work in team environment

VII. Project Engineer

Key Accountabilities
1. Understanding of Technical Specifications and drawings
2. Understand scheduling practices and planning works
3. Be able to develop procedures and reports
4. Be able to used Auto cad and Ms. Project
5. Strong background in management of project

Specific Requirements
1. Min. 5 years experience in the same area.
2. Max. 40 years old. (Male/Female)
3. Good command in English both oral and written
4. Able to attend project site meetings in Jakarta and Kalimantan
5. Willing to work in team environment

VIII. Personnel & Administration Superintendent

Key Accountabilities
1. Setting up and implementing HR policies and procedures, planning, coordinating and carrying out all personnel & administration activities including recruitment, industrial relation, training, general affairs, camp services, community development etc.
2. Plans, coordinates, and ensures ongoing reliability of the site security system in conjunction with other key personnel
3. Plans, coordinates, implements medical services programs that suits to the company policy and procedures
4. To liaise with the government officials such as Manpower dept, Local government, etc to ensure compliance of regulations.
5. On hand experiences handling company permit or license (i.e. mining or forestry dept)

Specific Requirements
1. Bachelor / Master Degree from reputable university in Management or equivalent.
2. 30 to 40 years old, and to be located at Site (remote area)
3. Having at least 5 to 10 years experiences handling Personnel & Administration in the manufacturing industry, experiences in coal mining industry is an advantage.
4. Superior communication skills in Indonesia and English (oral and written) and possesses the ability to communicate and manage relationships with a wide range of people.
5. Strong leadership, analytical skill, results oriented and able to work in a team, and willing to be located in remote area
