Responsabilities:
Contribute to the development and timely publication of the World Water Development Reports (WWDRs) and other relevant products of WWAP.

Competencies:
Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills. Good IT skills.


Qualifications:

Education:
Advanced university degree, preferably at Doctorate level, in engineering, chemical or environmental sciences, with specialization in water. Specific training in Project Management is desirable.

Experience:
At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience, of which preferably 2 years acquired at the international level, preferably in developing countries, in the field of freshwater related projects.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of French. Knowledge of Italian would be an asset.

Others:
Proven experience in project formulation, design and management, grant writing and fund-raising.

Responsabilities:
Conduct UIS surveys in S&T including: conceptualisation of surveys (instruments, reviewing the survey cycle planning, coordination with other sections of UIS;

Competencies:
Competence in the use of personal computers in a networked office environment as well as in a remote dial-up environment is essential and required.


Qualifications:

Education:
Advanced university degree in the field of statistics or a closely related numeric discipline (such as demography, economics or mathematics) or in the fields of social sciences with a focus on science and technology studies

Experience:
At least four to seven years of professional experience in the collection and analysis of science and technology statistics, of which preferably two years acquired at the international level.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English or French and very good knowledge of the other language. A working knowledge of another official UN language will be an asset.

Others:
Ability to manage staff, motivate and supervise the work of a small team is required.
