This vacancy is required for our client, an established international company.
Purpose of Job:
• To co-ordinate with structural engineers, field engineers, structural draftsmen, and other disciplines, in regards to undertaking detailed installation engineering.
• To engage in regular communication with the fabrication yard.
• Perform/review installation calculations as well as review subcontracted work.
• Monitor the schedule and plan work accordingly.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural).
• With min. 8 years experience in Oil & Gas Industry, Preferably with offshore installation background (Platforms, jackets, topside).
Specific Skills:
• Installation Engineering Background required.
• SACS Analysis package preferable.
• Design of seafastenings & barge strength checks.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Detailed Engineering
• Participate in establishing engineering systems in installation group.
• Oversee creation / checking of detailed drawings.
• Produce & check engineering calculations / reports, drawings, MTO, specifications, project basis of design.
• Perform barge strength / stability / ballasting calculations.
• Raise work instructions, answer technical queries & deviations to specification.
• Supervise & coach junior engineers & draftsmen.
• Produce submissions for MWS / third party bodies & respond to comments.
• Review materials for summary of bids.
2. Client Interface
• Provide updates on progress & current issues.
• Pursue timely reviews & approvals.
